# Stream E2EE Android - Element X Client Installation Guide

> Mobile client setup and configuration instructions for Element X on Android devices.

## Overview

For Android devices, Stream E2EE connects through **Element X**, the cutting-edge, next-generation mobile client built on top of the Matrix Rust SDK and modern Jetpack Compose architecture. Element X delivers sub-second message sync, native cryptographic security, low memory footprints, and instant notifications.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Element X is available for free on Google Play. Ensure you download **Element X** (not legacy Element) for optimal performance and battery efficiency.

## Setup Instructions

**1. Download Element X from Google Play**

Install the official application from Google Play Store:\
[Download Element X on Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.element.android.x\&hl=id)

**2. Configure Homeserver Address**

Launch the Element X application. On the initial setup screen, choose **Change Server** or edit the homeserver URL from the default `matrix.org` to YPYM's dedicated server:

```http theme={null}
https://matrix.ypym.app
```

**3. Log In with Assigned Credentials**

Enter your corporate username and password. Once authenticated, verify your new mobile session using your security recovery key or an existing web session.

## Credential Policy & Account Provisioning

> [!WARNING]
>
> **Access Notice**:\
> Username and password credentials are managed directly by YPYM Engineering & DevOps.
