# Stream E2EE Web - Browser Client Setup & Security

> Browser and desktop access guidelines for YPYM Stream E2EE collaboration platform.

## Overview

The Web client for Stream E2EE provides immediate, browser-level access to YPYM's encrypted collaboration workspace. It requires no local software installation and can be accessed directly from any modern web browser or installed as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for desktop convenience.

All cryptographic key handshakes and encryption operations are computed locally within your browser sandbox before any network packets leave your device.

## Access Credentials & Authentication

**1. Navigate to Web Gateway**

Open [https://stream.ypym.app](https://stream.ypym.app) in your web browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge).

**2. Verify Homeserver URL**

Ensure the homeserver address is set to:

https://matrix.ypym.app
```

The Stream Web interface comes pre-configured with this homeserver, but you can verify it in the server field on the login screen.

**3. Sign In with Corporate Account**

Enter your assigned corporate username and password. Upon first sign-in, you will be prompted to set up your Security Key / Recovery Passphrase for cross-device verification.

## Credential Policy & Onboarding

> **Internal Access Guidelines**:\
> Username and password credentials are provisioned exclusively through internal IT management.
>
> * **Team Members & Collaborators**: If you are a YPYM employee (full-time, internship, partner, or strategic collaborator), your Stream username and password are provided during initial onboarding.
> * **Assistance & Provisioning**: If you have not yet received your login details, or if your credentials need to be reissued, please consult your team lead or send an email request to **[dev@ypym.app](mailto:dev@ypym.app)**.

## Security Recommendations for Web Access

* **Private / Shared Workstations**: Always log out and clear browser sessions when accessing Stream from shared computers.
* **Session Verification**: When signing into a new browser tab or device, confirm the cross-signing verification emoji or accept the security key prompt from an already authenticated session (such as Element X on your mobile device).
* **Desktop PWA**: For improved notification handling and isolation from regular browser tabs, install Stream as a PWA via your browser's *Install App* menu item.
